Childhood illnesses

My daughter is sick. She's had a fever for a week now - low grade for the most part but a fever nonetheless and up to 103* at one point. I took her to the doctor today and we've ruled out strep, pneumonia, and a urinary tract infection. We now must do blood work to see if it's mononucleosis or some other weird thing. She's miserable and I can't do anything to help her. Breaks my heart.

edit (update): it wasn't mono, pneumonia, or any other weird thing. She just had an infection somewhere (her white blood count was low). Still no idea what it was but she's all better now. (1/17/12)

Gratitude and Faith

“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.”

Christmas/Holiday inspiration

“We can choose to enjoy the magic of this time of year. We may not always get to choose the people and circumstances around us, but we always have a choice about how we relate to them.”

Life is divided into three terms - that which was, which is, and which will be. Let us learn from the past to profit by the present, and from the present to live better in the future. - William Wordsworth

Mistakes

Mistakes, errors in judgment, faux pas, etc... we've all made them at one point in our lives. Some are bigger than others, but all we can do is apologize from our heart and strive to do better.

This is a hard one for me to believe.
